iowa-state-patrolThe Iowa State Patrol recently released information about fatalities that they reported in 2017 on state roads. Greene County had one reported fatality, while Dallas County had three and Guthrie County had two fatalities in 2017. Statewide, the Iowa State Patrol responded to 331 fatal vehicle crashes last year. There were 13 counties in which the State Patrol didn’t respond to any fatal crashes, while Polk County had the most with 27.

Greene County Medical Examiner Dennis Morlan reported to the Greene County Supervisors at a meeting last month that he responded to 14 calls last year, which was a drop from a year ago with 27 calls. Most of the calls were medical-related and he confirmed the one traffic death in the county.
