ADM, Winterset, and Woodward-Granger are among the high school wrestling programs with State qualifiers from todays’ Class 2A District 4 tournament in Harlan. There are four wrestlers per weight class and first and second place finishers in each of the 14 weight classes qualify for the State Tournament Feb. 15-17 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. All three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will have extensive play-by-play coverage of all area qualifiers from Wells Fargo Arena.

Atlantic/CAM won the team title with 90 points and Creston/Orient-Macksburg was second with 81. Red Oak was third with 71 points, followed by Winterset 67, Shenandoah 61, ADM 60, W-W 44, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) 40, Harlan 32, Southwest Iowa (Corning) 20, and eight points for Greene County.

ADM had three champions in Andrew Flora (113), Nolan Harsh (152), and Kaden Sutton (220).

Winterset had champions in Bryce Hatten (120) and Kruise Kiburz (138). The Huskies had a second place finish from Jack West (132).

The featured match of the day, according to ratings and records, lasted just eight seconds. Second ranked Nick Foss of Harlan (37-1) threw third rated Cody Fisher of W-G (51-2) onto the mat and Fisher suffered aa apparent shoulder injury. He defaulted due to the injury, but still advances to the State Tournament without having to wrestle back. Fisher finished second at 195 lbs. in the 2017 2A State Tournament.

W-G’s Ryan Munoz won by fall in 1:55 in the second place wrestle back at 120 lbs. to become the Hawks second State qualifier.
