The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District will be hosting their second annual Experience Success Today conference next Friday.
There will be no school on February 16th, so all teachers in the District can attend the conference from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the high school. Superintendent Greg Dufoe organized the first conference last year, and everyone felt it was a big success and a big help. Last year’s conference was planned by administrators, with some help from instructional coaches in the District. This year the instructional coaches have taken the wheel and will once again get help from student ambassadors.
The schedule for the day includes several breakout sessions, ranging from building a classroom community to creating compelling questions. Three times throughout the day, Dr. Anthony Muhammad will give a keynote address to attendees, offering advice from his many years of experience. Additionally, there will be student performances by the jazz choir, instrumental soloists and ensembles, and speech team. Organizers feel the student performances are an important aspect, because it will remind everyone that the kids are the reason teachers do what they do.
