Tuesday, February 6th
7:53am: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at Elm and 220th Streets. A 1997 Jeep Cherokee, owned and operated by Benjamin Barron of Jefferson, was westbound on 220th Street and left the posted stop sign at the intersection turning south onto Elm Street. A 2004 Ford F150, owned and operated by Nile Dockter of Carroll, was eastbound on 22oth Street and could not stop at the posted stop sign. Dockter slid through the stop sign and struck the Barron vehicle. The Barron vehicle suffered a reported $2000.00 in damages to the rear passenger’s corner. The Dockter vehicle had $3000.00 in front end damage. Dockter was issued a citation for, “Fail to Maintain Control.”
8:43am: An officer began an investigation into a Burglary to the Trinity Lutheran Church at 801 West Lincoln Way Street. Subjects entered the building, forced open office doors and removed computer items valuing about $2300.00. The investigation continues.
9:03am: An officer was requested at 504 South Walnut Street for a reported Assault. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Veronica Laine Ellsbury, 33 of Jefferson for, “Domestic Abuse Assault – Simple.”
9:27am: Connie Ross reported that her juvenile son had been assaulted of 02/04/2018, at 401 South Wilson Ave. The officer is investigating.
10:54am: Jon Laue reported a semi driving carelessly on 220th Street, approaching Jefferson form the east. The officer stopped the truck in the 400 Block of North Elm and spoke to the driver.
11:54am: The Physical Therapy Department at the GCMC requested a Welfare Check on a patient who did not make his appt. The officer made contact with the subject, who was fine.
3:48pm: A caller advised of a loose dog near Maple and State Streets. The officer checked the area, but found no dogs running freely.
6:48pm: Susan Herrick requested a Welfare Check on her dogs at 407 South Olive Street. The officer cannot locate anyone at the residence.
7:23pm: William Davis requested an officer at 102 South Pinet Street for a dispute occurring with his son. The officer worked to diffuse the situation for the evening.
7:44pm: An officer took a Criminal Mischief Complaint at 1311 West Lincoln Way Street. A vehicle had stuck the mailbox at the residence.
9:30pm: Esther Knapp reported a deer in the roadway at 908 West Harrison Street. The officer checked the area, but did not locate the animal.
