As Greene County Chamber and Tourism looks to 2018, additional board members are needed to serve.
Tourism and Events Coordinator Michael Reese says after making changes to the Chamber bylaws, there needs to be a 12-member board. Currently there are three seats available.
“If anyone out there has interest, whether you’re part of the Chamber or not right now, no ideas and no people should be overlooked. If you have the experience or the leadership qualities, by all means throw your hat into the ring, and we want you apart of our board.”
This year’s Chamber Board Officers include: President Mike Holden, Vice-President Tim Pound and Treasurer Ora Stevens. Reese stresses the need for continuity playing a key role on the board.
“With obviously all of those officers, Tim (Pound) came on the board this past year, and we retain most if not all of our board members. So that continuity is very, very important, as far as making sure that we’re sticking to our plans and ‘B’ really to show the community that this group is very serious about changing the Chamber for the positive and that we’re going to follow through.”
