A new restaurant could potentially be coming to downtown Perry sometime in the near future.

The building on the northwest corner of 2nd Street and Warford, which until recently housed Stitches in Time, is in the process of being purchased by the owner of several restaurants around Central Iowa. J.R. Sheffer owns Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, a barbecue restaurant in Clive, as well as The Sports Page Grills in Ankeny, Winterset, and Indianola, and Brickhouse Tavern Pizza and Beer in Indianola.

As of now it’s unknown what kind of establishment will go into the new location, as well as a timeline for when it could be open for business. One thing is clear though, Perry residents have been hoping for new dining options for quite some time, according to City Administrator Sven Peterson, so a new restaurant would certainly be a welcome downtown addition.
