This weekend, the Perry Chamber of Commerce invites you to indulge your sweet tooth with their annual Chocolate Walk.
One difference between this year and previous years, is the Chocolate Walk will be held both Friday and Saturday. Chamber Board President Emily Leslie explains their reasoning for extending the event. “We’re doing the two day Walk, with that emphasis of slowing down and not just running in and running out to get your chocolate, but really getting a chance to talk to those shop owners and get a chance to shop at those different stops.”
In addition to the Chocolate Walk, the Chamber will also be hosting their first ever winter farmers market, also on Friday and Saturday. Leslie says they had a lot of interest when they were first considering the winter market, and she hopes it will help numbers for the Chocolate Walk and vice versa. “There will not be a fee for you to attend the farmers market, but it will be going on the same time as the Chocolate Walk. So we really hope that you know, the people that are out and about shopping the community of Perry, supporting the Chocolate Walk, that they’ll shop at the farmers market too!”
The cost to attend the Chocolate Walk is $5, which will get you access to both days. The Chocolate Walk and winter farmers market will both run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. this Friday and Saturday. There are 24 stops throughout town for the Walk, though not all of them will be open both days. The farmers market will be held in the Towncraft Buiding’s gallery.
