A portion of Highway 4 in Greene County is back open to traffic.

According to Greene County Dispatch, a call came in at 10:24am about the crash near the 2200 block of Highway 4, south of Jefferson. The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Jefferson Police Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

Jefferson Police Captain Heath Enns tells Raccoon Valley Radio a chain reaction collision started when one semi-tractor trailer hit another semi-tractor trailer, which then struck an Iowa Department of Transportation plow truck. Enns says one driver suffered a head injury. The names of those involved and the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, while crews work the scene.
