For the third time this season, the girl/boy basketball doubleheader scheduled in Winterset with Greene County visiting the Huskies has been weathered out. Shortly after noon Monday, Greene County school officials sent word that although school was not being let out early, all activities for Monday afternoon and evening have been cancelled.

If snowfall in front of the KGRA Studios in Jefferson is any indication, more than six inches of the white stuff had fallen by 1:30 p.m. No make up date for basketball has been announced. This is the final week of the regular season for the Greene County teams. The Rams host non-conference Grandview Christian (Des Moines) on Tuesday night in the middle school gym in Jefferson in the regular season finales and also Senior Night. That doubleheader on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com is scheduled for a 6 p.m. girls’ start with the boys to follow. Coverage is slated to begin at 5:45 p.m.

Coach Dean Lyons’ girls’ team opens Class 3A Regional action on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in Sac City vs. East Sac County.

Coach Chris Nelson’s boys open Class 2A District play on Monday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Woodward vs. Panorama.
