BRR 2018 has finally arrived, so Perry residents are reminded to keep an eye out for bicyclists, pedestrians, and out-of-town motorists today.
The 41st annual Bike Ride to Rippey starts this morning at 7 a.m. with registration and check in at Hotel Pattee, as well as the Lions Club breakfast at 7:30. The ride itself will commence at 10 a.m., travelling up Highway 144 to Rippey and then back again. The Perry Hy-Vee will once again offer their hot chocolate stand along the route, and there are a few activities riders can take part in when they get to Rippey. The BRR Ride is hosted by the Perry Chamber of Commerce, and they invite Perry residents and riders alike to take part in sales offered throughout the downtown area before, during, and after the ride.
Additionally, one of the Chamber’s newest members, The Crooked Rail, will host a band performance in the evening, once the ride is officially over. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also make an appearance at BRR, broadcasting live from 8-11 a.m. We will give live updates on air, play music in front of Soumas Court, and relay important announcements.
