The next concert hosted by the Perry Fine Arts Group is coming up at the beginning of February, and it will feature some of the best musicians the United States military has to offer.
On Sunday, February 11th, the Freedom Winds group will perform a free concert at the Perry High School Performing Arts Center, starting at 2 p.m. The group is made up of six members of the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America. They infuse percussion into a traditional woodwind quintet to show off the full breadth of the music and their own capabilities.
Fine Arts Committee member Cathy Clark says the show should be as entertaining as it is eclectic. “The members have a wide variety of interests, so there will be music for everyone. They play everything from jazz, ragtime classics, to popular themes from Broadway hits and Hollywood’s greatest films. So it sounds like exciting woodwind pieces. They’ll be from the U.S. Air Force, and so I’m just really excited to hear them!”
There is no cost to attend any Perry Fine Arts concert, though donations are accepted. All proceeds will go toward future performances.
