This year marks the 25th anniversary of the final season for six-on-six girls basketball in Iowa.

The Panorama School District will commemorate their team that made the state tournament that year. The team will be recognized at halftime of this Friday’s girls game against the Ogden Bulldogs. The 1993 squad fell in a nail-biter to Osage in the first round of that final state tournament, 60-59.

Six-on-six girls basketball will also be a central theme this summer in Guthrie Center during the Smithsonian’s “Hometown Teams” exhibit at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library. The festivities surrounding the exhibit are set to include a performance of “Six-On-Six: The Musical,” also in Guthrie Center.
