The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
County Engineer Josh Sebern presented plans for another bridge replacement project. This would be a box culvert replacement of a bridge on Dogwood Avenue, northwest of Adair. The replacement cost is an estimated $134,000 and will be funded through Tax Increment Financing (TIF). The Board approved the plans, along with the annual bridge posting changes. Sebern also discussed various bridge repairs, including a possible project for one on the Guthrie and Greene County line near Bagley. The Board gave authorization to pursue with various small projects as they are within the previous fiscal year’s budget.
The Board then discussed plans for the old environmental health office in the courthouse. The office was vacated during the department’s move to the new Guthrie County Public Health building. The Board has decided to use that space as a storage facility, including election equipment. The Board then approved handbook changes for the Transfer Station, as presented by Executive Director Jotham Arber. The changes are meant to unify policies with the public and environmental health departments.
County Veteran’s Affairs Administrator and General Relief Coordinator Darcia Robson also presented her 2019 fiscal year budgets to the Board. The Board took no action on the budget proposals. The meeting concluded with a budget workshop.
