It’s a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader in Jefferson tonight with South Hamilton visiting Greene County. The SH boys are undefeated at 18-0 and they’ve wrapped up their second straight HOIAC crown at 12-0. Second place PCM (Monroe) has three losses in the league and just two conference games remain. Greene County is 8-4 in the conference and 10-6 overall. The Hawks have four players averaging in double figures, while the Rams have three players averaging double digits and another at over nine points per game. Junior Trey Hinote leads the Rams at 17.6 points per game with seniors Wade Adcock and Joe Towers at 13.8 and 11.4, respectively. Junior Lance Hughes is at 9.4 per contest. The Hawks won the first meeting 64-56 in Jewell on the strength of a 17-0 scoring run in the second quarter.

The Hawks are 7-12 on the girls’ side and 5-7 in league play while the Rams are 5-12 and 2-10. SH won the first meeting 55-40 and they used a 19-0 run to take control. Greene County is led in scoring by senior Laurin Lyons at 10.7 points per game.
