The 2018 RAGBRAI route has finally been revealed, and Jefferson will be included as an overnight location.

This year’s cross-state bicycle ride begins in Onawa and makes its way eastward through Jefferson, making its final stop in Davenport. The other overnight locations along the ride include: Denison Ames, Newton, Sigourney, and Iowa City. The route is just over 425 miles long, which makes it the seventh shortest route in the ride’s 46-year history. The route is also the fourth flattest.

This is the fourth time Jefferson has been selected as an overnight location. The previous three were in: 1976, 1983, and 2008. The full route is expected to be released in March. The 2018 ride has been unofficially dubbed the “Rivalry Ride,” as both Ames and Iowa City are overnight stops for the very first time.
