The head girls basketball coach of the West Central Valley Wildcats (7-8 overall) is encouraging Wildcat fans to come out and support the team this week. Both West Central Valley basketball teams have three home games this week alone, and weather permitting will have four games in Stuart before next Wednesday. Drew Stonewall is in his fourth year leading the West Central Valley girls basketball team and welcomes Wildcat fans to come out and support the squad this week. “It’s a group of good kids to work with,” Stonewall said, “It’s enjoyable to come to practice because they work and they get along well, most of the time. WCV fans, hopefully, you can come out and help us win some games this week.”
West Central Valley’s four-game homestand begins tonight against the Van Meter Bulldogs. The Wildcats are scheduled to host CAM in nonconference action Thursday, entertain the Ogden Bulldogs Friday, and will close their regular season home schedule next Tuesday against Des Moines Christian. All the varsity girls games have start times of 6 p.m. with the boy’s games to follow from West Central Valley High School in Stuart.
