Friday, January 19th

3:56am: An officer checked on a Business Alarm Activation at 303 North Elm Street. All was fine at the business.

6:04am: Ieisha Jabbar reported a male subject had taken her car without permission. The male advised her he had dropped off the vehicle in Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle parked in the 200 Block of South Walnut Street. The officer advised the owner of the location of her vehicle. An Arrest Warrant was requested for Zachary Allen Waters, 21 of Paton for, “Operation without Owner’s Consent-Aggravated.”

1:14pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 60 Block of West Monroe Street.

3:14pm: Keith Wright advised of an elderly female at 1207 North Elm Street, who locked her keys in her vehicle. The officer contacted Durbin Towing to assist the female, since it was not an emergency situation where the officer could unlock the vehicle.

3:22pm: The Greene County Middle School requested an officer to conduct a Welfare Check on a juvenile female at 600 West Lincoln Way Street. The juvenile had not been in school since January 4th, 2018. The officer went to the residence and made contact with the parents of the child. They were not cooperative with the officer and would not allow him inside to speak to the child. DHS has been made aware of the event.

5:07pm: An anonymous female advised of drug usage at a residence in Jefferson, where children are living. The officer is investigating.

6:07pm A caller advised of Open Doors at 700 West Russell Street. The officer made contact with employees to secure the building.

8:01pm: A caller advised of debris in the roadway in the 400 Block of North Elm Street. An officer removed the object.

9:40pm: Melissa Rice reported harassment on Face Book by her neighbor. The officer told both parties to end contact with the other.

Saturday, January 20th

5:54am: An officer checked on an Alarm Activation at the Rec Center. He located an employee on scene opening the facility up for the day.

8:42am: A caller advised of a female wearing light clothing walking near Maple and McKinley Streets, who seemed confused. The officer located the female, who was fine and advised she was walking to the Library.

9:04am: Tim Hegstrom advised he had received the “IRS” Phone Scam. He did not give the caller any information and did not incur a loss.

9:45am: Charles Heimer advised his van’s transmission line had been vandalized at 907 North Cedar Street. The officer found no evidence to suggest it was not normal wear and tear on the vehicle and vandalism.

10:47am: An officer assisted a motorist with car trouble in pushing the vehicle from the intersection at Chestnut and Madison Streets.

11:27am: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of South Cedar Street resulted in the arrest of Jody Lyn Schad, 42 of Jefferson. Schad was charged with, “Driving While Barred-Aggravated and Dark Windows – Simple.”

1:06pm: Eric Chrystal provided an officer with suspected drug paraphernalia located while working in his rental property at 905 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer destroyed the item.

2:47pm: Curtis Burkhardt spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue with a cat at 202 West Adams Street.

3:03pm: Veronica Ellsbury requested that an officer speak with her 6 yr. old daughter, who had been taking things that do not belong to her. The officer spent some time speaking with the youth about possible consequences of this type of action.

3:25pm: Kelsey Reed requested an officer at 1000 West Adams, #25, for a Harassment issue with neighbors. The officer found it was not harassment and advised all parties to ignore the other.

4:25pm: The GCMC requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street for an unruly husband of a patient. The situation was taken care of before the officer’s arrival.

6:16pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of South Olive Street.

Sunday, January 21st

8:05am: Jennifer Hupp advised of a deceased deer in the 400 Block of Greenewood. The officer called subjects on the Deer Salvage List and located a subject who wanted the animal. The officer issued a Salvage Tag for the animal to be removed from the area.

8:17am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Cedar Street.

9:33am: An officer investigated a Hit & Run Accident at 106 West Washington Street. A 2008 Chevrolet Uplander, owned by Nathaniel Truss of Scranton, was struck while parked at the business. The officer estimated damages at $500.00 to the vehicle. The officer is working with the business to gather video of the event and develop a suspect vehicle involved.

1:50pm: Darla Nelson came to the LEC with a complaint of Harassment by an ex-boyfriend on Face Book. The officer advised both parties to end contact with each other.

2:13pm: An officer was requested at 777 Wild Rose Lane for a Hit & Run Accident. A vehicle backed into a 2009 Chevy Silverado, owned by Francis Halbach of Fort Dodge and left the area. Halbauch’s vehicle was not damaged in the incident. The officer is investigating.

9:58pm: Peter Bartelt reported suspicious activity occurring outside of 702 North Cedar Street. The officer made contact with a male subject outside the residence, who was working on a vehicle by flashlight.

11:09pm: An officer responded to a Panic Alarm at 303 North Elm Street. An employee had accidentally tripped the alarm.

Monday, January 22nd

11:28am: Staff at the Cobblestone Hotel (771 Wild Rose Lane) reported an abandoned vehicle in their parking lot.

1:32pm: As a result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of East Lincoln Way, Kimberly Johns of Jefferson was issued a citation for Driving While License Suspended.

3:44pm: Joseph Patterson reported a stolen cell phone from the Greene County Community Center (204 West Harrison Street).

3:52pm: Staff at Medicap Pharmacy (400 North Elm Street) reported a stolen registration plate off a company vehicle. An officer is investigating.

6:19pm: Officers responded to 108 East Central Street Lot 66 for a verbal argument taking place between a male and a female.

7:57pm: Officers responded to the 500 block of North Elm Street for a possible medical assistance call.

8:04pm: Officers responded to the 500 block of North Elm Street for a two vehicle accident. Brandon Turner of Garner, Iowa, was traveling southbound in the 500 block of North Elm Street in the inside lane while operating a 2015 Chevy Tahoe. Kent Peninger of Grand Junction was driving parallel with Brandon in the outside lane in his 2008 Ford Focus. Brandon attempted to switch lanes and struck the Ford Focus, causing $1,000 in damages to the right front of the Tahoe and $1,000 in damages to the back left door of the Focus. Brandon was issued a citation for Turning at a Intersection Violation.

**** As a result of an investigation that began on 01.18.2018, Arrests Warrants have been requested for Trinity Glen Welch (28) of Jefferson for Violation of a No Contact order (Simple Misdemeanor) and Domestic Abuse Assault – Display or Use of a Deadly Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor). These Arrest Warrants stemmed from a report of Trinity threatening his significant other, Kaleigh Harrah of Jefferson, with a knife at their residence located at 404 North Chestnut Street during an argument.

**** As a result of an investigation and a Search Warrant that occurred on 12.03.2017 at 902 North Pinet Street, Arrests Warrants have been requested for Hiram Silvano Black (29) of Jefferson and a juvenile male for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor) and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana (Serious Misdemeanor).

All charges are merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
