The Raccoon River Conference basketball schedule will take the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers on two separate road trips this week. The first game takes place tonight in Madison County as ADM visits Winterset for a league doubleheader versus the Huskies. Winterset won both games against ADM in Adel on December 8.
The ADM girls basketball team (5-10 overall; 4-4 RRC) had troubles stopping Winterset junior forward Madison Wauters in the first matchup, allowing 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 49-37 setback. ADM ended a three-game overall losing streak Friday with a 39-37 victory over the Ballard Bombers (7-8 overall; 6-2 RRC). Junior forward Kristen Baier highlighted ADM with 11 points and six rebounds in the win. Winterset (7-5 overall; 4-4 RRC) enters tonight’s game off a 62-41 loss on the road to Class 4A No. 6 Boone (14-1 overall; 8-0 RRC).
The ADM boys basketball team (3-10 overall; 0-8 RRC) will look for their first league win of the winter when they visit Winterset tonight. The Tigers, who fell to Winterset, 63-45, in December, lost their second meeting against the Ballard Bombers, 70-61, Friday night in Adel. Junior Koby Hardcastle poured in a team-best 17 points for ADM. Winterset (9-3 overall; 7-1 RRC) enters tonight’s game tied with the Carlisle Wildcats (7-4 overall; 7-1 RRC) for the lead in the Raccoon River Conference standings. The Huskies dropped their latest conference game Friday in Boone, 63-58.
