acgcThe Woodward Academy Knights got off to a rough start to begin the season, posting a 1-3 record in their first four games. Since they defeated the Chargers in Guthrie Center last month, the Knights have won eight of their last nine and are looking to crack the top three in the West Central Activities Conference. The ACGC boys will try to put a halt to that charge, as well as their own losing streak, tonight in Woodward.

The Knights are led by junior Mike Barker. Barker is averaging about 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. Classmates Qwame Davis and Rob Salley also average double digit scoring for the Knights. Charger Senior Caden Wardyn is just 20 points from the 500 mark for his career. Wardyn put up nine in the loss to the Panthers last Friday and scored 20 points most recently against Ogden. To get the win tonight, Quynton Younker will surely need to reclaim his rebounding skills. The sophomore averaged eight rebounds per game early on in the season, but is now only averaging six.

The Chargers and the Knights were both placed in District 15 for their postseason assignments. The other teams in the district include: Des Moines Christian, Woodward-Granger, Panorama, and Greene County. Tip-off from Woodward begins at 7:30pm with pregame starting at 7:15 on KKRF2 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
