After nearly a quarter century involved with Panorama Panther football, longtime head coach Lyle Alumbaugh has decided 2017 is his last year leading the program. Alumbaugh tendered his resignation as Panorama’s football coach earlier this month and confirmed the news with Raccoon Valley Radio over the weekend. Alumbaugh dedicated 24 years of his life to the Panorama football program, 21 years as head coach and three more as an assistant.

Alumbaugh told Raccoon Valley Radio that it was a pleasure and a privilege to be the head coach of Panorama’s football program for many years. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with an endless number of outstanding young men both as athletes and more so as people,” Alumbaugh said, “The emphasis of who’ll be walking out the door in May and what quality of a person are they. We supplemented what their parents have told them for the last 17-18 years, and hopefully, we’ve added a little something to that.”

Alumbaugh walks away from Panorama with an overall record of 120 wins and 78 losses. Of his 24 seasons with the Panthers football program, 20 ended with winning records. His final season at the helm finished with a 3-6 overall record.
