A reminder that today several high school students are competing at their respective district large group speech contests.

Greene County and Paton-Churdan High School students are at Des Moines Roosevelt.

Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Stephanie Pace says 13 students are competing in two events: short film and group mime.

Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray says about 26 students will compete in six events. The events include: one act play, choral reading, ensemble acting, radio news, short film and group improvisation.

The public is invited to attend and admission is $3.
