Iowa Public Television (IPTV) recently invited the Panorama School District to select five students to participate in their “Paving the Path: Girls in STEM” event. The networking opportunity, scheduled for Monday, January 29th, will introduce girls around the state to careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Girls in grades 6-12 will spend the morning visiting interactive booths and learning about training and education for specific careers. IPTV hopes those who attend will share their experiences with their district. IPTV anticipates this event will continue in future years, as over 40 school districts applied for admission into the event.
IPTV also selected the Paton-Churdan School District to send students to the event. The five Panorama students participating are: Payton Douglass, Ruby Hummel, Jasmarie Flanery, Ella Waddle, and Molly Simmons. Abbi Holloway was selected as an alternate.
