With this year being an election year for governor, a Democratic candidate will make a campaign stop in Jefferson tonight.

The Greene County Democratic Party is hosting a meet and greet event with gubernatorial candidate Dr. Andy McGuire. She earned her medical degree at Creighton University, and has worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines. She also served as the chair of the Iowa Democratic Party for two years.

The event will begin at 7pm at the Greene County Extension office. It is free and open to the public.
