Jenna Kool of Adel was honored Saturday evening during a coronation ceremony, officially kicking off her reign as Miss Rodeo Iowa 2018.
The event was held at the Country Lane Lodge east of Adel, and the venue was packed with excited attendees anxious to meet the first Miss Rodeo Iowa in Dallas County history. The event started with the crowning of Zoey Dennler of Crawfordsville as Miss Junior Rodeo Iowa. Miss Rodeo Iowa 2017, Logan Kinyon of Creston, then passed her crown on to Kool, officially coronating the new royalty. Kool then gave a speech, which was followed by recognizing other Rodeo Queens from around the state.
Before the attendees were treated to a meal catered by Texas Roadhouse, Kool’s brother Jeff, an auctioneer in Adel, conducted a dessert auction. The various tables around the venue were able to pool their money to buy a dessert just for them, with the most expensive being a Dutch apple pie sold for over $400. Following the meal, there was a fashion show, live auction, and raffle drawing. There was also a silent auction conducted throughout the night. All the proceeds from the ticket sales and auction items will support Kool’s journey around the United States the rest of the year. She’ll cover over 30,000 miles and visit over 100 locations before wrapping up the year in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas this December.
