ADM Tigers

A junior on the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers wrestling team continues to defeat the competition put in front of him. Andrew Flora (113) tallied three more wins at Saturday’s Gary Christensen Invitational hosted by Winterset Community Schools, taking first place honors. Flora’s road to the top of the podium started with a bye in the opening round. His first contested match saw Flora register a technical fall victory over Winterset’s Dakota Jenkins 16-1. Flora’s semifinal grapple against Central Decatur’s Wyatt Dale ended in a 2-0 decision, and he won the tournament championship over Martensdale St. Marys’s Cole Casey by a 5-3 decision. The three additional wins bring Flora’s record to 26-0. ADM’s other notable finishers at the Gary Christensen Invitational included Kaden Sutton (220) fourth, Brodrick Schmidt (160) seventh, and Charles Craigmile (182) eighth. ADM wrestling will have the full week off from competition. The Tigers return to the mat Thursday, January 18 in a Raccoon River Conference triangular against Bondurant-Farrar and Carroll. First grapples are set for 5:30 p.m. at Carroll High School.
