Springbrook State Park had an active year of programming in 2017 and is hoping to carry that activity into 2018. However, the park will need some volunteers to help make that happen.
The park has had the privilege of having Anne Riordan, an in-house Training Specialist from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, to create park programming. However, Riordan recently informed Raccoon Valley Radio that she will be splitting her time between Springbrook, Walnut Woods Park in Des Moines, and Lake Anita State Park in Anita. Due to the change, Riordan is looking for additional volunteers to help. She says the volunteer search is off to a good start. “I have one person who has been going through the motions to become a volunteer starting in the spring. I would definitely be interested in speaking with other people who are interested. Whether it is helping with programming, helping kind of get things set up, or just to have a little coverage so things can keep rolling at all of the parks.”
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Riordan to request more information.
