ADM Tigers

The long holiday break comes to an end this evening for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers basketball teams. The Tigers return to the floor for their first game in 15 days when the Bondurant Farrar Bluejays invade Adel for a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader. Tonight is the first of two meetings between ADM and Bondurant Farrar with the next matchup scheduled for Friday, February 2, in Bondurant.

Both ADM basketball teams suffered losses in their last game before the break against the Pella Little Dutch. The Tiger girls basketball team (3-7 overall) committed 29 turnovers in a 60-38 setback. Junior Emma Jacobsen was ADM’s high scorer with 14 points. She also swiped six steals and grabbed two rebounds in the loss. The ADM boys basketball team (2-6 overall) saw their current losing streak increase to five games with a 63-51 setback to Pella. The Tigers held a two-point halftime lead before Pella outscored ADM, 33-19, in the second half. Senior Dalton Hews and junior Koby Hardcastle chipped in 12 points apiece for ADM.

The Bluejays bring a pair of sub .500 basketball teams to Adel tonight to face the Tigers. The Bondurant-Farrar girl’s basketball team posts a 4-5 overall record, closing 2017 with five losses in their last seven games. The Bluejays boys basketball team registered a 3-5 overall record but ended last year’s competition with back-to-back wins.
