We just passed the holiday season, which is an incredibly busy time for local food pantries.
The Greene County Action Resource Center continues to be a resource for people in the county, both for donations as well as volunteers. Volunteer Fahe Wiley talks about how all the volunteers help to make ARC such a successful program for those in need.
“We have a good group that comes in every week. I work part-time of the year, so I’m only here five or six times out of the year. Some of these (volunteers) are here every Wednesday and on some Saturdays too. It’s a great group to work with and I enjoy being here with them.”
Volunteer Sandy Ford has been volunteering her time with ARC for over 30 years. She talks about why she continues to help those in need at the food pantry.
“Their faces. They always (say) ‘thank you.’ They appreciate it, that’s what it is. It’s just giving back.”
