Greene County hosts Woodward-Granger in high school girls’ non-conference basketball tonight in the middle school gym in Jefferson. The varsity contest is set for around 7:30 p.m. with coverage near 7 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coach Dean Lyons’ Rams are 3-7 and have lost six games in a row. They’ll be playing for the first time in 2018. The Hawks are 2-8 and have dropped five in a row, including a 38-22 decision on Tuesday vs. Earlham.
Ram sophomore Izzy Bravard talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about what the team worked on over the break. “We started from the basics again because we had such a long stretch of break off. We worked on getting the shooting touch back, dribbling, and passing better. We also focused on making less turnovers.”
Bravard comes off the bench for the Rams and was asked what she likes to bring to the court. “A lot of energy. I like to play defense, as well as get shots up, and get a lot of assists if I can.”
After tonight, the Rams go to Jewell on Friday night to face a 3-8 South Hamilton team.
