The Perry girls basketball team will look for their third victory of the season Friday night when the Jayettes host Ballard in a 6:00 varsity game at the Perry Sports Pavilion. The Jayettes closed out 2017 with a home victory against Ogden and first year head coach Chris Morrow said you could tell the girls had some momentum during the holidays.
“I think the break went very well. We had a really good scrimmage and we had the director of Pure Prep Academy come down to Perry for a day of skill development work. We were also able to put in some new wrinkles on offense with the hope of getting some more easy shots and giving our offense a little spark. I think the girls are ready to get back into their game routine.”
The Jayette lineup will get even younger tomorrow night following the news that reserve guard Natalie Martinez has left the team. The junior turned in her gear over the holidays and will focus on the soccer season this spring. The departure opens the door for freshmen Quinn Whiton and Ainsley Marburger, along with sophomores Hannah Petersen and Magley Orellana to get more playing time off the bench.
