Greene County boys’ basketball senior Jordan Patterson, also known as J.P., can score points when called upon, but he sees he main role as playing defense, passing the ball, and rebounding. Patterson is in his first season as a starter for the 6-3 Rams, who are 5-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. Up next for the boys is a trip to Jewell tomorrow night to face unbeaten, top 10 rated, and defending HOIAC champion South Hamilton. The Rams were the only team to win on the Hawks’ home floor a season ago.
Patterson talks about his attitude on the court. “My attitude’s definitely going out thinking he’s not scoring on me. I’ll do whatever it takes if I have to– get on the floor after loose balls, hustle around, and do the little things Coach wants us to do on defense.”
When asked what may lie ahead for this team, Patterson commented, “I’m not seeing too many more losses coming from us because right now we’re still learning and getting used to each other. I think we play a lot better together than I thought we would, and we’ll just all-around get better as a team.”
