With a new year comes a renewed sense of wanting to be healthy and physically fit.
Greene County Extension is offering a course called “Eating Healthy Simply” as part of the Greene Living Series on January 9th. Extension Director Lori Mannel talks about the event.
“We’re going to be doing something a little different, this is going to be held during the lunch hour from noon to about 1:30pm. We’re very excited that we’re going to partner with Ram Restaurant at Greene County High School. It’s going to be a lunch and learn opportunity with Holly VanHell, who is an ISU Human Sciences Specialist and a nutritionist. She is going to present information on how to choose healthy food options, also reducing your grocery bill, while enjoying a delicious meal.”
The meal includes: tossed greens with honey mustard dressing, garden pork saute and a mini berry pie. Cost to attend is $20. Reservations must be made by this Friday, by calling 386-3412 or stopping by the Extension office in Jefferson.
