A pipe issue that came up yesterday at the Dallas County Courthouse has persisted, so the building will once again be closed the rest of today.
County officials told Raccoon Valley Radio the water pipes in the courthouse froze up yesterday and the geothermal heating in the building was unable to thaw them. As a result, like yesterday, the Recorder’s Office and the Clerk of Court will remain closed today. Additionally, the Treasurer’s Office Tax Department will once again be moved to the Department of Motor Vehicles building at 918 Court Street for the remainder of the day. All other Dallas County Offices will be open today as normal.
The County Facilities Department will be working today to fix the problem, and they hope to have it resolved before business hours tomorrow. At this time, it’s also not believed any of the pipes have burst.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
