The Raccoon Valley Radio Network has learned tonight’s West Central Valley basketball games against Des Moines Christian in Urbandale have been postponed to Thursday January 18th.
The start of the second half of the high school basketball season takes the West Central Valley Wildcats to Urbandale tonight. The Wildcats pay a visit to Des Moines Christian for a league doubleheader versus the Lions. Tonight is the first of two conference games between the schools with the second games scheduled on February 2 in Stuart.
Both Wildcat basketball teams enter the new year on a positive note. West Central Valley swept a nonconference doubleheader against Southeast Warren Warhawks in Liberty City on December 21. The Wildcat girls basketball team improved their record to 4-5 overall with a 55-30 victory over Southeast Warren; The Wildcat boys basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 57-49 triumph over the Warhawks. The Lion basketball teams recorded several wins in 2017. The Des Moines Christian girls basketball team enters the new year with an 8-2 overall record, while the boy’s squad is undefeated in nine contests in 2017.
The varsity doubleheader tips off at 6 p.m. with the girl’s contest, and the boys will follow from Des Moines Christian High School in Urbandale.
