The water pipes at the Dallas County courthouse froze up this morning, causing the geothermal heat to the building to not be functional.
County officials say the facilities department is working to fix the situation, and hope to have the heat back on sometime today. However, the offices at the courthouse have been affected: the County Recorder’s office is closed the rest of the day; the County Treasurer’s office has moved the tax department to the Department of Motor Vehicles building; and the Clerk of Court will be closed until noon, and will reassess if they will reopen after 1 p.m.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you updates on the situation as information becomes available.
