The Perry boys basketball team did not show up with the defensive intensity it had displayed the last two games out Thursday night as Ogden surprised Perry 65-60.  The Bulldogs looked like they were going to waltz to an easy road win leading 54-38 after three quarters.  Perry seemed to find their legs in the fourth quarter going on a 15-3 run over the first three and a half minutes to cut the lead to three on two separate occasions.   However, the hill was too steep as Ogden was able to hit some late free throws and crucial three’s by Kayden Kruse and Zack Thompson allowed the Bulldogs to pull off the upset.

Perry was led by Rashon Ivory’s season high 30 points while Drew Levan added 14.  Senior Connor Nielsen scored nine points with all nine coming in the fourth quarter.  Ogden was led by Ben Hereen’s 17 points.

Perry lost reserve power forward Michael Meyer early in the fourth quarter.  Meyer appeared to exit with an ankle injury.   The combination of injuries and departures from the team have been staggering this season for Perry.  The Bluejays have now lost four full time, regular minute guys this season.  Reese Dunlap (torn ACL), Brandon Kenyon (quit), Brendon Ivory (ankle) and now Meyer.

In a surprising move despite not having school, Perry will return to the hardwood tonight for a boys only game against Greene County.  Shawn Kenney will have the call on KDLS.
