ADM Tigers

The first half the high school basketball season ended at home Thursday for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers. The Tigers welcomed the Pella Little Dutch to Adel for a nonconference varsity doubleheader. ADM entered the holiday break with a pair of double-digit losses.

The ADM girls basketball team (3-7 overall) had trouble hanging onto the ball in a 60-38 loss. The Tigers committed 29 turnovers in the setback. ADM was led in scoring by junior Emma Jacobsen with 14 points, six steals, and four rebounds. Sophomore Delaney Bertman added eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Pella’s Emily Holterhaus scored a game-best 26 points. The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 3-7.

The ADM boys basketball team saw their current skid increase to five games with a 63-51 loss. The Tigers held a two-point halftime lead before being outscored, 33-19, in the second half. Senior Dalton Hews and junior Koby Hardcastle each chipped in 12 points. Senior Caleb Herrick grabbed down 10 total rebounds, while Cole Knoll brought down six boards. Pella’s Ryan Gustafson had a game-best 26 points. The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 2-6.

The Tiger basketball teams resume their season on January 5 at home against the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays.
