Greene County High School’s boys’ basketball team has had some good starts in recent seasons, but not as good as this one. Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams are 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play and take a four game winning streak on the road tonight. They step outside the league to play at Boone and face a 2-5 Toreadors team that is coming off a 75-73 victory on Tuesday night vs. Bondurant-Farrar. Greene County also won on Tuesday night, tasting victory at Nevada, 60-55.

This edition of the Rams is averaging 63 points per game while giving up 52. Junior Trey Hinote is the leading scorer at 17 points per game and he scored a career high 28 vs. the Cubs on Tuesday. Senior Wade Adcock is the primary inside threat and he’s at 13.4 points and 11 rebounds per game. Senior Joe Towers and junior Lance Hughes are both nearly averaging double digits in scoring.  Seniors Jordan Patterson, Ben Bravard, Ben Wilkens, and sophomore Carter Morton have all played their roles well.

It’s a girl/boy doubleheader tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
