The ACGC basketball teams will have one more test before the beginning of winter break. The Chargers will square off against the Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders tonight in non-conference doubleheader action.
The Charger girls will have a good opportunity to secure their first win of the season. Their opponent comes into tonight’s game with a 1-7 record. The Crusader’s lone win on the season came at conference opponent Woodbine, who also has seven losses on the season, 52-43. The Crusader girls are led by senior Kayla Lenz, who is averaging nearly eight points and four rebounds per game.
The Charger boys will have a tougher task tonight as they try to contain the returning 1st Team All- Rolling Valley Conference selection, Ben Obert. The junior leads the conference in points per game with 23.7. The Crusaders come into tonight’s matchup with a 2-4 record, with wins over Saydel and Woodbine.
The Charger girls will hit the court as one of only four winless teams in Class 2A. The Charger boys will look to get back on track as they try and turn around a three game losing skid. The doubleheader begins at 6pm with the girls game, immediately followed by the boys. You can catch the action on KKRF2 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network, with pre-game coverage starting at 5:45.
