A Jefferson man this year’s winner of Raccoon Valley Radio’s $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway contest.

Dave Davis is from Jefferson and works for the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department. He was a finalist that had registered at TechZone in Jefferson. There were 71 sponsors included in this year’s contest. To enter Davis, like thousands of others throughout the Dallas, Greene and Guthrie County area, simply filled out an entry form and dropped it in one of the designated boxes. Davis says he’s grateful to receive such a tremendous prize.

“Well I just think that rural Iowa is a great place to live and a lot of these big cities don’t have something like this like Raccoon Valley Radio has, and all of the sponsors that help put this on. It’s just nice to be a winner. Everybody that helped out, I just want to say ‘Thank you.’”

Davis was one of 260 qualifiers drawn as a finalist who entered during our Caring Christmas Food Drive that helps support local food pantries.
