The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams reported that the County made about $800 from a public auction for vehicles in the new impound lot. Williams added that they made slightly more than what it costs them in tow service from the auction.
The Board then heard 2019 fiscal year funding requests from Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity for $5,000, Greene County Early Learning Center for $5,000 and the Greene County Fair Board for $24,000. The Board took no action on any of the requests.
The Board then approved the County Treasurer’s investment report of $6,126,164 for November and issuing 259 driver’s licenses last month. Additionally, the Board approved plans to replace a bridge on County Road E-18 next spring for over $700,000 and the weed commissioner’s report as presented.
County Engineer Wade Weiss told the Board that he wants to have a maintenance agreement with MidAmerican Energy ahead of their next probable project of building 85 wind turbines, to include a road and bridge condition report so that if there is any damage from the project, they have something to compare it with.
