A four-game stretch in just five days began last night for the Greene County Rams with a 69-46 victory in Jefferson over Southeast Valley (Gowrie). Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play after the non-conference victory Monday night. The Jaguars fell to 2-5 on the season. Junior Trey Hinote had a season high 25 points and senior Ben Bravard and sophomore Carter Morton gave the Rams a big lift off the bench. Morton had a career best 13 points and Bravard added eight. All of Morton’s points came in the second half as the Rams took a 34-28 early third quarter lead and turned it into a 27 point advantage late before winning by 23. Greene County was 26 of 57 from the floor and 11 of 17 shooting free throw. The Rams had 14 turnovers.

SEV turned the ball over 24 times. They made 14 of 44 field goal attempts and went 13 of 22 shooting free throws. The Jaguars had a balanced scoring attack led by 10 points from senior Jaxon Myers, who scored in the first half on three goals from three-point range.
