Tonight’s Raccoon River Conference doubleheader will feature a battle of Tigers in Carroll.The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers basketball squads make their final road trip of the calendar year this afternoon for the last league matchup before the new year. ADM looks to return to the winning side of the ledger after a pair of narrow nonconference losses Saturday afternoon in Adel.
The ADM girls basketball team (2-6 overall; 1-2 RRC) couldn’t make it three wins in a row after falling to the Gilbert Tigers, 50-48. Three players made up 96 percent of the scoring for ADM. Sophomore Delaney Bertman led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Abbie Hlas added 16 points and seven assists, while junior Emma Jacobsen chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. ADM continues to lead the Raccoon River Conference in total rebounds (278) and offensive rebounds (119). Carroll (1-5 overall; 1-2 RRC) is looking to end a three-game losing streak tonight against ADM. Freshman Laura Sweeney leads Carroll with 66 total points scored and 15 steals.
The ADM boy basketball team (2-4 overall; 0-3 RRC) returns to the road after going winless during their recent three-game homestand. The final game Saturday saw ADM fall behind by 18 points to Gilbert, and ultimately losing the game, 58-52. Junior Koby Hardcastle led ADM with 16 points while seniors Dalton Hews and Cole Knoll added eight each. Carroll (3-2 overall; 2-1 RRC) is looking to return to winning form after having their three-game winning streak snapped last Friday in Winterset, 61-60. Senior Cooper Ross is Carroll’s leader with 118 points scored, 19 assists, and 14 steals.
