The first weekend of December has come and gone, and Redfield and Greenfield wrapped up a packed Saturday of holiday festivities. Redfield’s Winterfest and Greenfield’s “Christmas From the Heart” gave community members the chance to do some holiday shopping, enjoy some winter classic food, and participate in the spirit of giving.
Redfield’s Winterfest kicked off with dozens of craft vendors and plenty of activities at West Central Valley Middle School. This portion of the event also gave participants the opportunity to donate snack pack and personal hygiene items to those in need throughout the school district. The holiday lights display in the park and the chili feed capped off the celebration. About twenty different pots of chili were consumed this year.
Greenfield hosted its “Christmas From the Heart” event at the Warren Cultural Center and surrounding venues. The day was highlighted by the Chocolate Affair Extraordinaire. Two large tables were lined with classic holiday goodies, with proceeds supporting Greenfield Business Women’s student scholarship program. Over 30 trees were also on display at the center for their Tour of Trees. Proceeds from that event will go towards purchasing cardiac rehab equipment at Adair County Memorial Hospital. The day concluded with a holiday concert featuring the Melody Makers.
