The City of Perry’s sally port project is nearly completed, with just a few things left to finish before it can be utilized by the Police Department.
According to City Administrator Sven Peterson, the cement is all poured and the walls are up. The list of things to finish is small, and includes items such as electrical work. The project has been several years in the making, but Peterson is pleased with how quickly it has progressed since construction officially began. The contractors have said the Police Department can start bringing cars into the sally port by the end of January at the absolute latest. However, Peterson is more optimistic, and says the project could be completely wrapped up before there’s snow on the ground.
