There will be a new district judge for two counties in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, as Governor Kim Reynolds recently made an appointment for Judicial District 5A.

Thomas Murphy of West Des Moines was appointed to the judgeship recently vacated by Judge Gregory Hulse. Murphy graduated from Drake University Law School after receiving his undergraduate degree from Marquette University. Prior to his appointment, Murphy served as an attorney at Hopkins and Huebner, P.C. Judicial District 5A includes Dallas and Guthrie counties, as well as Jasper, Marion, Warren, and Madison counties.
