Greene County was a 63-52 girls’ basketball winner in Jefferson on Tuesday night over Perry. The Rams are 2-0 after winning in Ogden on Monday night, 46-35. Perry lost its second straight game and fell to 1-2. The Rams had lost 10 straight to Perry teams dating back to 2008. The game was broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Jayettes jumped out to a 19-6 lead after one quarter. They made six field goals in the frame including three three-point field goals. Perry made just 10 more field goals the rest of the night.

Greene County had 10 turnovers in the first quarter, but handled the ball much better the rest of the game to finish with 18. A 25-point second quarter pulled the Rams to within 32-31 at intermission. The Rams led 46-39 at the end of the third quarter and went ahead by as many as 11 points down the stretch.

Senior Laurin Lyons had 21 points to lead the Rams and senior Samantha Hardaway added 11. Sophomore Kassie Lamoureux came off the bench to score nine points.

Perry was led by senior Isabel Saemisch with 22 points, but she fouled out with 5:45 left to play. Sophomore Molly Lutmer had 12 points and senior Johanna Diw scored 11.
