Santa Claus is coming to Jefferson this weekend.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says they are hosting a new event called “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday from 8 to 11am at the Greene County Community Center. Activities include: Christmas-themed crafts, carolers, and Christmas stories, plus a breakfast buffet and cookie decorating area sponsored by Jefferson Hy-Vee. Greene County Chamber and Tourism is also bringing in Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be available for pictures by Meythaler Photography. Lautner explains why they wanted to host the new event.

“We were just talking about adding something in the winter time. We decided to try a ‘Breakfast with Santa’ (event). We’ve got in-town businesses helping us out and it’s free fun for the kids and parents.”

No pre-registration is necessary for the free event.
