Dementia can be among the scariest aspects of aging, both for patients and their loved ones. With that in mind, the Dallas County Hospital Foundation and the Perry Lutheran Home will be hosting a Lunch and Learn workshop this Friday on identifying and understanding dementia.

The session will focus on the warning signs and stages of the disorder, as well as ways to deal with it. The featured speaker will be Deb Koelln, the Chief Care Officer, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Master Trainer at the Perry Lutheran Home. The course will include free memory screenings for all attendees. There is no cost to attend the workshop, and a meal will be provided. It will be held Friday at noon in the community room at Dallas County Hospital in Perry.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to DCH Foundation Manager Matt Crooks before Friday, at 515-465-7563 or mcrooks@dallascohospital.org.
