The Raccoon Valley Radio Network is expanding its coverage of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger Sports tonight with the debut of the ADM Student Spotlight presented by the Adel Dental Group. The ADM Student Spotlight gives you an in-depth look at students at Adel-Desoto-Minburn High School and the extracurricular activities they’re involved in both inside and outside of school. Our first ADM Student Spotlight is on Kaylyn Nordman, the only senior on this year’s ADM girls basketball team.
Nordman’s started showing leadership qualities before the first girl’s basketball practice even began. She was the organizer of ADM’s fall basketball team, which played three games on three separate Sundays in October at I 35 Community Schools in Truro. On this edition of the ADM Student Spotlight, Nordman said her desire to get better pushed her to organize ADM’s fall basketball team. “When coach mentioned that we could participate in a fall (basketball) league, I felt it wouldn’t just be able to help me get prepared for the season, but it could also get the other girls prepared for the season (also),” Nordman said, “I know I took the initiative to get the team together. It took a while because some of us didn’t want to do it.”
Ultimately, Nordman convinced several girls to join her on this year’s fall basketball team including Joining Nordman on the fall ball squad was juniors Emma Jacobsen, Grace McCartney, Anna Kenny and Rachel Hardy, sophomores Delany Bertman, Abbie and Emily Hlas and freshman Julia Case.
